I have a Gateway laptop running Win XP Professional.
It will not boot up. Has Error message: Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
I do not have the admin password needed to open in safe mode.
Am I going to have to put a new hard drive in this? Or are there other options?
Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong forum. I am a newbie to the site.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
