found this and figured this can be a guideline for removing the tank itself, I am going to assume that you know how to relieve the fuel pressure and bring the amount of gas to a lower level on your own. I do have more about relieving fuel for "With Fuel Pressure Test Port" and "Without Fuel Pressure Test Port"

keep in mind this is only for fuel tank removal

Fuel Tank
Removal & Installation

1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove fuel tank filler cap. Using an approved fuel storage container, drain fuel tank. Raise and support vehicle. Disconnect fuel fill hose and fill vent hose from filler neck.
2. Disconnect fuel pump module wire connector. Disconnect fuel vent hose from vent tube. Disconnect fuel supply hose from tank. Remove skid plate (if equipped). Remove fuel tank shield.
3. Support fuel tank with transmission jack. Remove support straps. Lower and remove fuel tank. To install, reverse removal procedure. Start engine and check for leaks.
Also, just in case, if this is the reasoning behind asking for tank removal, I found this info
"On Cherokee, fuel tank removal is not necessary when removing fuel pump module."
Hope this helps
Please take great precautions on working around fuel, they can cause serious personal and property harm

Never work on your Grand Cherokee without proper safety equipment. Wear safety glasses and gloves when working under your SUV. Wash your hands with soap and water immediately if you don't wear any gloves. Keep a fire extinguisher handy in case of a fire breaking out in or around your SUV.
