Hello,

I will be doing a lot of travelling and was looking to purchase a laptop. I play MMO's like SWTOR and SRPG like Skyrim and Mass Effect. I found this laptop and the price was pretty good (799), but wanted to get some opinions on it.

I'm not sure if the 540M will do that well.
The processor and Ram and everything appears to be fine.
The HDD is a little slow at 5400RPMs (I personally wouldn't use anything below 7200rpms for gaming)

The Geforce 540M is not good for gaming but still can manage to run most games on low settings
if you can bare to play games on low settings the laptop should be OK

What video card should I look at for the laptop, Nvidia and ATI? If I want to play on med to high settings for current games.

Personally, I wouldn't get anything under a GTX560m, but a GTX555m would work as well.

Those are nVidia cards.

95% of laptops can't be upgraded, so if you want to get a better Video card you have to think about another laptop
just take note that a GTX 560M is not the same as a GTX 560
and a GTS 540M is not like a GTS 540
the mobile (M) version are always slower...

Slower, and they run much hotter.

For comparison, a GTX460m cannot run battlefield 3 on all low settings at anything playible.

Now a regular GTX460 can run BF3 at decent frames.
