Hey guys, I just recently reformatted my dv7t-6100 HP laptop (using recovery disks), just to clean up my system.

After doing so, I proceeded to update drivers (using the HP ones supplied on the website), and after finishing that I thought I'd give my games a try.

I use Steam, so I used it to redownload my Skyrim and Team Fortress 2 data. This is where the trouble kicks in. I'm using the same settings as before the format, but I am getting more lag than I ever did before. I could play TF2 on max settings before with no slowness at all, but now I still lag with even toned down settings. Help?

I have used both, but the performance is the same. Skyrim is an offline game, and it lags as well.

Also, the speed of the connection doesn't matter, as I have around 50 mbps on wireless and 200-500 mbps on wired. (Yay Georgia Tech internet!)

CPU-Z Validator 3.1

There is the CPUz file. Every thing looks right, except the graphics part. I do have an integrated Intel Graphics Card (which is in the file), but I also have a ATI Radeon 6770m graphics card installed. I have all of the settings set as they were before.

My laptop is a dv7t-6100, but isn't the Quad version. My laptop has a 17.3" 1080p monitor, ATI Radeon 6770m graphics card, Intel i7-2620m processor (2.7 GHz with turbo boost to 3.1 GHz), a 1 TB hard drive, and 12 GB ram.

So you have the ATI/Intel switchable graphics, your scores mirror mine and I only have the Intel HD2000 so I'd say the graphics are not switching to ATI.
Ran across this once and after updating the ATI graphic drivers had to install the latest Intel drivers from the Intel site.
Use the Intel update utility> Intel® Driver Update Utility

I used the Intel Driver Update Utility, and it told me everything was valid except the graphics card, which was an OEM's customized version. I tried using the drivers from HP's driver page for my computer, and it says my computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements. I'm quite stumped.

I'm using the one that came with the second to last HP update. I haven't downloaded anything from the ATI site. The HP Intel update (SP55098, to be precise), tells me my computer "does not meet the minimum requirements to install the software."
