Hello all. On my old laptop with XP there was a facility to remove other than a current restore point all previous ones. This gained some space back again. I can't find any way to do this on my new HP Comaq CQ60 laptop with Vista.
Is there a solution?ray:

Thanks for that. It doesn't say whether there is the same facility as per XP. On XP it comes under the Accs/system tools section /cleaning out unwanted files/ removing all but latest restore point.

as far as removing system restore points then i would say yes

It's the same on Vista as it is on XP (well, almost)
Start | Accessories | System Tools | Disk Cleanup
Click on Files from all users on this computer
You'll get a UAC prompt if UAC is enabled.
Select the drive and click OK
It will check the disk, then bring up the Cleanup dialog.
Click the More Options tab
The bottom section allows you to delete all but the last System Restore point.
I don't know if it will keep the latest version of any Shadow Copies of files, or if it deletes them all.

Thank you that does the trick. Regained about 6 gigs!



I have noticed that on some websites on my Internet explorer the explorer wants to close. I wonder if anybody has this?
