My printer has gotten noisy of late. Recently, it seems like it it is printing unusually fast. Now, my color photos (on photo or stock paper) have a "banned" effect...distinct horizontal lines, about 3/8" wide; darker at the top & lighter at the bottom.

Anybody have any ideas as to what might be wrong?

Thanks in advance.

does your printer have a cleaning option ? I know some printers can basically just "run" ink really fast through nozzles to clean them...check your printer settings...

Thanks all...

Dust busted, cleaned & aligned. The noise is diminished, but the images are now missing complete lines. The ink level is very low, so I am assuming that is it. Will replace cartridges & try again.

On the subject...anyway to lube HP printers?

Thanks again.

Solved!

People...

I found it! In the application that the page layouts were generated in (MS Publisher 2000), the print quality in setup was set to "Draft." Unbelievable...I have no idea how that happened. I reset it to "Normal"; & the image quality is now perfect.

Live & learn.

Thanks again to all.
