Hey guys,

I recently put together a computer and have been trying to get the front audio ports to work. Alas I have been unable. I have a sound card (Some old sound blaster) so I think part of the problem may lie there. The audio cord that comes from the front socket is currently plugged into the motherboard, not the sound card. This is so because the sound card dosnt have the right sized hole to fit the particular cord I have. Are there any tricks or do I perhaps have something wired wrong. If its something hardware wise perhaps I can get some more specs and take some pictures to help describe the problem. Thanks!

Try enabling the on-board sound in bios (enter bios setup by hitting the F2 key while booting). The sound blaster sound card won't produce sound unless speakers are attached to it. You'll probably have to remove the sound card when enabling the onboard audio.
