Microsoft has finally announced the release date for the newest iteration of their popular operating system. Windows 8 will be available from 26 October, as confirmed by unit leader Steven Sinofsky at a recent sales meeting according to a MS communications manager. The operating system has gained quite a hype in the last few months with the new interface and additions to its already secure and stable repetoire. This Windows will mark a great advancement in the operating system since its first release back in 1985. With its new Metro design, and increased security features, plus its cross-platform compatibility, this is a crown jewel for the software giant, and marks their entry into the the mobile market on a large scale.

Windows 8 will be available for computer, tablet and other mobile platform manufacturers in August, for inclusion in hardware systems.
Sources state that the Windows Phone 8 will quickly follow the release of the the operating system.
