Had some similar problems after the video card went in with freezing, but they had cleared up in the last two weeks. Just installed everything in a nice new case and a 400W power supply. Now the system freezes randomly, to the point that it has to be shutdown. It'll freeze in the middle of booting windows, then freeze again during the disk check. Sometimes it'll go 15 minutes without freezing. But the end result is always the same, it freezes. It's also getting a Virtual Memory too low error when I shut it down regularly. That problem has been around since before these new freezing problems though.

I checked the temperatures, and it's running an average of 20 degrees cooler, fahrenheit. That's when compared with the system I'm using now, which is identical except it's a 1700.

So, any ideas? Any information I didn't provide? Thanks in advance.

It just simply locks. Although this morning it doesn't appear to be doing it anymore. This is exactly why I chose not to get into the tech field :]

If it acts up again, we're going to try switching RAM....past that, *shrug*

Ok, it started freezing again so I had her(Sati) switch the RAM with mine. That made it freeze more. So I had her turn down the processor in the bios, because I know the stick she had in there before is PC-133, but mine may be slower. Everything seems to be working so far...
