FPS is up and down in all games

sup. in a most of the games i play (cs:s , pariah for example) the fps will drop significantly for about 10 secs then speed back up again to smooth gameplay. this will happen every 2 mins or so and is very annoying. i dont think it is a temperature issue. does anyone know waht would cause this ?

have you updated your drivers?

Sounds really like a heating problem to me

what programs are you running in the background?
what kind of anti virus/internet security/firewall do you have?

How much RAM have you got, and what are your page file settings?
Try a defrag.

looking at people's signiatures sometimes is useful

I hardly doubt that this problem could be related to the ram, 1gb should be enough

Can't see your signature. There's no additional info in your profile, and you didn't provide any system specs in your post.

my specs are in my sig. my temps sit at 52c in mid game. i have tried 5.8 cat and the problem still happens. i am on 5.6 cat now. It has only just started recently so yeah. i will try a defrag...

ok i did defrag and have formatted my computer, but the fps lag is still there. what the hell?
