Hey, i was having this issue since a long while, and it really does annoy me, maybe the most annoying thing in my life at the moment...
I am experiencing fps issues while in game when near to a lot of npc, player, mob, and even sometimes structures.
For an example, i joined a Garry's Mod game myself alone, i got 240 fps easily on the highest graphics, so i don't think it's my GPU.
And when i joined a server with 40-50 players, i got 50-30 fps. It really does get annoying over time.
My Specs : CPU : i5-9400F (Running on 3800-3900Mhz while in game)
GPU : RTX 2060 (Gigabyte) (6GB)
16GB DDR4 RAM (no idea what speed, and no idea either how to check it)
240GB SSD, 2TB HDD (I usually download games on HDD, and i currently have 1.50TB space left on it, 155GB left on my SSD)
I experienced this is issue in these games too : Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Call Of Duty Warzone, Apex Legends, Horizon Zero Dawn, Assassin's Creed Origins, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Assassin's Creed Syndicate
I checked, and i shouldn't have any issues!

The drop is normal. Your hardware is more than adequate. Go to your nVidia Control panel and lower some of your settings. That's the trade off.
