Whenever my computer was not properly shut down and was restarted after scanning the following types of files are created by the system and stored in the Folder FOUND.000 ,001,002 etc. These folder contain the description as under:

Recovered File Fragment-pieces of file found when your disk was scanned.Created as FILE000.CHK
inthe Folder Named FOUND.000.
Many Such folders are created stored in C drive. Is it safe to delete these files or I should keep them in the C drive .

I've heard this called a "Dirty Shutdown" and as you know Scandisk cleans up on the next startup. Not familiar with these files you mention (sounds like leftover junk) but I would start with a basic cleanup and see if that gets rid of them.

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup

Might as well defrag after that.

If still no joy, then try Easy Cleaner and don't forget to backup before using any "cleaner" utility, even though Easy Cleaner does have an "undo" button.

Regards,
