Wasn't sure where to put this but here it goes.

I had to buy a new hard drive, plugged it in, put in the xp cd and changed the boot priority. A message comes up with 'warning boot sector needs modifying, press y to accept or any other key to abort' and a horrid beeping noise.

I press y but nothing happens and it doesn't with any other key. so i do research and find I need to disable the virus warning feature in the bios... but the option isn't there.

Can anyone help me please. i just want my comp back and everything seems to be fighting against me.

The options available in the BIOS vary from brand to brand. And if you are using an OEM PC, most are hidden anyway.
