I have just bought a Freecom Generation II portable CD-RW which comes with Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 Basic and I can't seem to format CD-RW's, although it does CD-R fine! An "initalisation error: Illegal Request" appears when you go to format. It uses Direct CD to do the formatting through the Easy CD Creator & its running on Windows 98. Help!

I believe Direct CD is for packet writing. So this shouldnt be the thing formating a CD-RW as far as I know if your just planning on using it to burn a whole disc. There must be another setting.
