do you have a boot disk that you can boot on ? if you do , set the boot sequence to boot from the floppy, and then let it boot up from the floppy and format...If you want you can download boot floppy from here...its on the bottom of the page
When you boot with a W9x boot floppy, you first want to do:

This removes the link to the XP loader and will stop it from attempting to load XP.
I started up my computer, went into my BIO settings disabled.
My harddrive, cd-rom drive & enabled my floppy. Then I rebooted
and it said, remove disks or other media. Press any key to restart.
I hit a key, and it said the same thing. So I checked my drives no
CD's in them whats going on.........
It keep on saying the same thing. Remove disks or other media.
Press any key to restart, I have the floppy enabled and every thing else disabled. It won't let me do FDISK it just says the same
thing, remove disks or other media. Press any key to restart,
I tried every thing...........GRRRRRRRRRRR:angry2:
You don't want to disable your hard disk! You want to set the boot order as A: C:, so it'll boot from the boot floppy! Then, if you boot from the W98 boot floppy and type FDISK /MBR, the WinXP will be dead, at least as far as booting goes. You can also format the partition with the boot floppy to prepare it for the new O/S.
thanks, if I ever see him im gonna hit bill gates in his mouth
I did not need to do all that, I started my computer and the boot disk work. O.K. after I hit fdisk /mbr then what, I feel like a dumb @ss I did this so many times. And I can't believe I can't remember how to install windows 98 so can you help...........
If you have the boot floppy with the CD drivers, log into the root of the Win98 CD and type SETUP, it should proceed from there. :)

FWIW, I'd first format C: to get rid of all the crap that's there, or you'll be picking through directories like Program Files later to get rid of stuff that you don't need.
THANK YOU ALL, I GOT IT...................
