Hello All!

I'm a new user and thought I needed to post a new thread but bare with me. I have Dell Inspiron 2400 loaded updated to Windows XP SP2 Home Edition. It has been hijacked in a sense with malware. I want to format and reload XP. I have backed up all that I need. The original Dell Reinstall disc is XP SP1 so it tells me it can't proceed since the current SP2 is a newer version. It gave me some information to restart, then F12 Boot menu than I chose option 4 for CD-ROM. When I proceed it boots normally. I get no menu allowing me to format or reinstall? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I would download killdisk from here http://www.killdisk.com/ its free and then do a low level format which will get rid of malware and your sp2 operating system, then I would reinstall using your os disk with sp1 and then I would download sp2 or if you have not got an amd processor I would download sp3 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322389
