You could turn it into a compressed folder. After doing so you can set a password to the compressed folder. Data can be changed just the same as it would a regular folder, but you have a password on it when opened. It makes it easier to move the folder if ever needed also. One container to move versus several files and folders in a folder. Not sure if this is the option you were looking for but here is how to do it.
Right click on the folder > send to compressed (zipped folder)
After a archive has been created right click > explore > then from the File menu there should be an option to set a password. You can add files into the archive, but you have to have it opened to do so (No drag and drop to the archive).
Then again this may not be what you need.
