I changed the jumper setting on my cd burner from 'csl' to master and the jumper on my cd rom to slave. That part works perfect. I have three floppy drives that worked fine in this computer. When I shut down and restarted the computer I got a 'floppy failure 40',I tried switching my floppy ribbon around, tried a new ribbon and I get the same thing,I have to hit 'F1' just to get the computer to turn on.I get the same results with two of my floppy drives, with the third floppy drive the computer starts fine but when I insert a disk in the floppy it says I have to format the disk. Where the ribbon connects to the motherboard I noticed a lot of flex in the board, could I have messed up something one of the times I reinstalled the ribbon?

Make sure the ribbon cable isnt reversed on the motherboard, and make sure the power leed isnt reversed on the floppy drive.
