For some reason, My floppy drive will not show up in XP, in either Device Manager or My Computer. My computer came with Windows 98SE installed, and I converted to XP. I reformatted to NTFS. I have scanned for errors and viruses and reinstalled Windows (not clean install; I want to format the drive, but PartitionMagic is giving me a weird error and won't start).

Any ideas?

Are you getting any errors on boot-up? Or have your tried putting a non system disk in the drive when you reboot to see if your get the Non System Disk error message? (at least we would no for sure the things working)

Also are there any errors showing up in Device Properties? or in your Events Log?

Also welcome to the board :)

I get no error messages on a normal boot. I do get the non-system disk error, so the drive itself seems to be working.

There's no errors in Device Manager. It lists a Floppy Controller, but no Floppy drive.

And thank you for the welcome.
