Hey Folks I appreciate your help on my question yesterday!!

I have another question about a PC at my work.
Specs:
AMD Duron 750mhz
Gigabyte GA-71xe4 Mother Board (I Think)
Windows 2000 Professional
Basic Floppy Drive
Basic CD ROM Drive (40x)

Problem:
Both floppy and CD Drive have power and attempt to read disks, but in Windows Explorer and My Computer, they say Insert disk into drive A or D. Have tried many disks in both drives. All disks
work in the other PC here. I tried new cables in both, uninstalling both drives (one at a time), tried uninstalling both IDE and Floppy Controllers, updating drivers and everything.

Any guesses???

Same response when trying from the command line.

Both show up in bios.

Were there any power surges recently? ... try swapping the problem drives with working ones in another system and see if that system has the same problem ... if it does it sounds like the drives are dead.
