Well, a new project I got myself into. A retired USAF Colonel asked for help designing a blog site. I happened to be Mr. Idea and thought about flash and said I'd give it a try. I looked around and could not find a good tutorial on it. I know very little about how the code works and I am just wondering if someone could either give me a brief walk-thru or link me to a basic starters guide on interactive flash design. I understand how flash works just not how to make a flash object. I have Macromedia Flash MX 04 if that is any help :normal:.

Thanks in advance for any help.

its not easy to do with a high learning curveand because of it, its not something that can be given a brief walkthrough within a forum.

My suggestion is to do a search for for free flash templates and see how they work. Make changes to see how it affects things.

You can also get books that can help. Maybe check out flash for dummies...

maybe check out the following site

Well I understand that, I'm saying basic basic. I noticed the frames and I actually took some ad from my temp files and pulled it apart. No were online can I find a simple start to how they are made, it doesn't have to teach me just show me how its all put together. I'm not asking that much, you can fund thousands of similar examples for HTML and C++. I'm asking for the "hello world" for flash if you get what I mean.

yes there are thousands of examples for html and c++ but they are simple, they are not that complicated. Flash is complicated, it has a high learning curve, its not something that only requires a couple lines of code. You must use Flash, swishmax or other flash creation type utilities.

If you go to the link I gave you, it will take you step by step on how to do things. You can learn a lot there.

I understand I'm actually taking a class later in the year on flash design. I could have sworn the link wasn't there before hand. Thanks, I'll give it a try.

I was just like you. The internet is so full of bs sometimes isnt it? hahaha...

Basically if you want tuts on Flash, your going to have to pull out your credit card, because anything worth paying attention to isnt free.

There are alot of flash training videos you might want to look at. Sobeit said it when he told you its complicated. Flash is VERY deep.

About a year ago i picked up "Total Training for Macromedia Flash 8". It assumes you know nothing, and teaches you ALOT. Takes you from joe to pro i guess...

Anyway videos are probably the best bet if you dont want to wait around for school ot start. Google (or if its legal where you live) torrent them? :p

Yep I understand what you mean, the teacher teaching me flash is also my

football coach, ironic ehh. I'll give it a try, another teacher of mine who

happens to be a retired colonel looks to me for the tech no-how and he

put me in charge of a website/blog for out ROTC program. I was the genius

that decided it would look cool with flash. Torrents?? what are those legal

downloadable walls of water. haha I know what you mean, and I do.

Thanks.
