I have a gateway GT5464 and I installed 2 (Patriot Signature 1024MB PC4200 DDR2 533MHz) and it was working fine for about 1 or 2 hours and it crashed. Every once and awhile it crashes, I was told that I need to flash my bios b/c my ram is diffrent than the stock ram, is this true? and if so what should i use to do this? thanks for your help.

BTW: have you checked the gateway website for your system model number to see if they have any bios upgrades for you ?


also: did you check the patriot website to verify the model number ram sticks you bought are tested to be compatible with your system ?
