Hey guys,
I have two towers open in front of me and I'm transplanting parts from one to the other. My question is will my motherboard ignite or poop out on me lol?
-I switched out from a 2.8ghz pentium 4 cpu to a 3.0ghz pentium 4 cpu
-Changed graphics and sound cards
-About to add a 1terabyte SATA hardrive
The motherboard doesn't have a SATA port so I am using one of these SYBAUSA - SY-VIA-150 >> Combo IDE(1)/SATA(2) PCI Controller Card VIA VT6421A Chipset
I need to switch out the power supply because I don't have an adapter to connect the PS to the HDD. What should I be looking for in terms of voltage to see if my MB can handle it?
If it helps this is what I have: Bestec ATX-250-12Z PWR Supply 250w, Rev D1, HP P/N: 5187-1098 which was in my MS-6577 motherboard
This is what I want to switch it with: ISO 450W Power Supply which was powering an ASUS P4P800S motherboard.
I already see a problem...
I'd really appreciate any helpful advice. Thanks everyone.
