My MOBO is an AS Rock ConRoe 1333-D667

Picked up the below out of another computer as I'm having difficulties with my pci FireWire card and wondered if it could be plugged in?

Electronics Technology Electronic device Machine Finger

Thanks in advance

Thanks. I'll bookmark the manual and hopefully come back here less.

Guess I'm replacing my FireWire card then. Really frustrating as there doesn't seem to be anything wrong. It just doesn't work lol. I tried replacing it with the same model card and got the same results which suggests to me its not the card at fault and is putting me off forking out for a new card.

Wish I'd never got into FireWire kit

Test the card(s) in another PC.

What is the card status in Device Manager? Uninstall from Device Manager, reboot, and manually install the latest drivers.

Assuming the card(s) test good, Windows could be flipping out (<< technical term). At which point I'd backup everything, format, and perform a fresh install.

Have done the above minus trying the card in another PC. I've also done an upgrade from xp to w7 since the problem started with no joy.

Device manager is happy
