A quick lowdown on my comp first:
Sony Vaio AR-570
Vista 32bit Ultimate, NOD32 AV, Comodo Firewall Pro.
I woke up one morning (I had left my computer on overnight) to find that NOD32 had flagged the main executable CFP.exe for Comodo Firewall Pro as a virus of "Unknown variant" Shortly after dismissing this notice, various things started crashing and completely freezing up my machine. Eventually, nothing worked and I was forced to power cycle. After I booted up, I ran a full scan using NOD32, but it came up with 0 positives. My computer had run perfectly fine for the past several months, and I've had no incidents with this instance of windows since I installed it. I uploaded all the EXE files that I had downloaded (just 2, various open source utilities that I needed for a project) to VirusTotal and I had 0 positives from all of their scanners.
Could someone advise me as to what I should do? I'm not quite sure what the problem is, but ever since that morning, my computer has randomly locked up entirely, even though I haven't changed any of my usage habits. (I have a suspicion that this might be caused by some update that happened overnight causing some misc. errors with vista...)

What I'm trying to figure out is if I have a virus, or if this is some incompatibility caused by something, or what. I can't tell if my AV software has been compromised or not.
