for some reason my Firefox browser will not remember passwords for certain pages, such as my hotmail account or my internet banking pages. Yesterday I removed Firefox and then reinstalled it on my computer but to no avail! I have the 'remember passwords for sites' box checked in the tools menu, and there are no exceptions. What else could it be? Do I have to setup a master password or something? Please help, this really sucks.
Also, hotmail has stopped showing the email that I'm replying to on the reply screen. Really annoying, so any suggestions about that much apprecciated too!
Master Password will make it all better. Negative is the first site requiring a password after opening your browser will require the Master Password first. Then putting the cursor on the user field will allow quick access.
Check your cookie settings. Passwords for some sites are stored in cookies, so they need to be enabled (either globally or for specific sites using the exceptions rules).
Have set master password and still not working. Just means I have to type that in each time as well as my un-remembered password! I checked my cookies but there is a Live.com entry so I'm guessing that's my email account, yet still I have to enter the password/username each time! So annoying, please help!!!! Any ideas sat all???
When you hit the option "Show Passwords", try deleting one, then go to that site and check, remember. Close FF and go back to site. After entering Master Password, user name and password should appear. If this works, you have to do it for each password.
