Firefox overload

1502 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  sobeit
On my desktop, Firefox works fine, but when i log off, Firefox does not shut off and is now using 100% of cpu. Need to disconnect Firefox in order to use the computer. I have tried removing Firefox and re-loading, but does not help. Please advise. I like using Firefox, but this problem prohibits its use.

Thanks

Try disabling Extensions. Also update Java. Finally, some security program combinations can cause a conflict i.e. Zone Alarm with Norton which hangs FF.
This appears to be the only answer given to anyone with ff problems. This is NOT, in most cases, the problem at all.
rstan, if you think you've got a solution, please post it.
