The title pretty much sums it up. I searched for help. Saw that this was an issue in the past. But no real help with this issue.
Basically, when in fullscreen, the min/restore/exit are not present so I have to use F11 or right click with mouse and select "exit fullscreen." Since I am personally in and out of Fullscreen mode all day, this is a pain in the back.

Before this obnoxious "update", I could move my mouse to the top right during fullscreen, making the "exit" button visible to close the window and continue using the mouse for the next bit of business, smooth and seamlessly. Now, I have to either right click then select "exit fullscreen" then left click the "exit" button (two steps, not seamless) or Hit F11 on the keyboard then left click exit (also two step, not seamless). So if we are going by simple logic here, that one step for the mundane is better (and faster) than two steps...then "It's too much trouble to tap [F11]?" becomes a matter of often I need to do the extra moves each day. For me that's alot. This is clearly a bad modification and I suppose the poll on this post might flesh that out, if I'm right.
Anyway, if you have something useful to add, like a fix, I would appreciate that.

This is just voluntary for you then, I see. This is one of those forums where you kinda have to duck and weave all the "characters/experts" until someone smart comes along. No problem, I've seen this before. So )))) Thaaaaanks! I'll just hang out for awhile and see if I get a some good info on this or not.

I'm no hacker, but I know one thing. With pc's there is ALWAYS a way, always a fix.

You might have changed to tablet mode if it's a laptop. Works as normal for me so I'm removing poll. Another option is to restart Windows in safe mode and thereby see if an app is causing the problem.

There is a difference between Maximized and Full Screen. Full screen hasn't changed since the early days, and you cannot close or minimize the windows, unless you press F11 or ESC which switches it to Maximized and you then can control the windows. Are you confusing Maximized with Full Screen?

Okay, thanks. I am on an MSI laptop. I checked HID in device manager for touch screens and there is nothing there. Is there another way to toggle tablet mode?

Yes, of course. In my explanation above I hope I was clear about the problem. My Full Screen has changed and that is what I am saying. If I hit F11, when I cursor to the top of the page making my tool bar drop down, there is no longer the interface on the upper right corner that I too remember being there since the beginning of time For me, they are no longer there, since I updated Firefox to 102.0.1.
Thank you for your input. If this is a bug and other folks start to ask about it, maybe someone will come up with a script?

I should have said so, but I am running 8.1. I've looked into the Action Center and there is nothing about Tablet and in device manager in HID there is no Touch Screen option to disable. Thanks for your ideas. I also did a Firefox refresh no help.

Yeah, I find 10 and up to be way too intrusive with too many backdoor security issues. I often wish I had learned to use MAC just because Billy Gates is such an untrustworthy POS (in my opinion). When he went from software developer to vaxxx doctor I started looking into his Eugenics involved POS family. Bad taste just from researching "him."
So, that was probably more info than you wanted but unlike most of my American bros and sis's, I am very up to date on NSA/FBI/CIA spying programs that absolutely affect all Windows users. I still care about my privacy (52yo) while the millennials and gen-Z do not seem to know what the word "privacy" means nor how very important it is was.

I think at this point I will research other browsers and switch, at least until I can get this bug fixed. It's too bad the other fella took down my poll. Obviously, just because Corday didn't have the problem with the update doesn't mean it is not a bug affecting other people. He should learn a bit about PR and Website user interactivity. The polling was a SUPER idea but if you are gonna take them down for illogical, nonsensical "reasons" you are shooting yourselves in the foot. Why not leave the poll alone and SEE if others are having the same bug?

This is the very best Tech Forum on the Internet, hands down BUT you folks could definitely work on user interface experience. For instance...Help guide your volunteers to not be smart alecks e.g. "Can't you just use F11?" And don't be so quick to take down polls that you offer to people to use. I, for instance, was really interested to see if others were having the same problem on the poll. And again, Corday taking it down was pure power/ego B.S. and not logical.

Thanks for your ideas. I tried every one of them to find Tablet on my 8.1 but it is simply not there. Since this happened immediately after my the update I didn't want (had to refresh 8.1 for other reasons got stuck with new firefox update) I have to assume it was the new update that caused the bug.

Overall you guys are doing a great job and I really appreciate that this forum is here...I hope you continue to grow and make improvements as you go forward.

Yes, I answered mentioning that I have 8.1. Someone gave a link to help with 8.1, I had already been digging. I do not have the Tablet feature. As far as screen res. goes, I'm on a 15" MSI and the res. is the same it's always been. I will report the bug. Thank you for the reporting link.

I do not purport to be any kind of computer guru. However, I am old enough to have started on an IBM running MS-DOS. I can state matter-of-factually I have never used Microsoft for their "support" ever. I have always had knowledgeable friends and more recently tech forums for true support. As far as patches and updates...'I be get'n me patches wit me mateys on the high seas...ARGH!!! I found all the places for updates and patches out of necessity, long ago, because I ran XP into the grave and finally gave in to Vista which I immediately hated. Honestly I thought 8 was an improvement over Vista minus the security issues (which are far easier to lock down than in 10/11). So I am sticking with 8.1 until they pull it from my cold dead hands lol! Truthfully, software, such as all MS OS's, so easily hackable which must be updated and patched out of the box and (until only recently) need a third party anti virus to keep it functioning, are both sinister and as dumb an idea as it reads IF you are to believe the narrative. I think there was a bit of Pavlovian training going on there with the very idea of constant updates. I am pretty darn sure that every time Skype/Microsoft "updates" there are package files being uploaded OFF of my computer. I don't think it is a stretch to see all of these Apps as a network of spyware by their very nature. Anyway...that's my book on why MS, to me, is just a bought and paid for arm of the military industrial complex.
I could go on for hours but I digress I am sure we can trust them to only make product suggestions to us based on their listening in and watching internet histories...right?

IMO Windows 7 was the big improvement to Vista. 8 & 8.1 were steps sideways. 10 was another big step forward. Jury still out on 11.
