Finding Best CPU for this Motherboard?

Can anyone determine the best CPU i can get for this motherboard. I need something fast and powerful for gaming because what i got now is a Pentium 4 3.40GHz 550, and its not cutting it lately. Ive got a link to the motherboard and its cpu support list but im not sure which one is the best, also i dont know if i can go beyond the list as long as i use a cpu with the same socket type.

So if anyone could point out the best CPU on that list, Or show me one that would work better that isnt on that list and fits the same
socket {775 (LGA775)} it would be greatly appreciated.
