Greetings,
One of the features I really liked in
MS WORD 6.0 was the ability to search for a file by actually viewing the files as you search.
You would go to
"Find File" on the Drop Down menu and the feature would come up.
You would simply scroll throught the files and the highlighted one would appear in the window.
Does anyone know how to do this in current Versions of Word???

Thanks,
Jack

Find File In Word

Thanks OLDMN!
Thats fine if you know the exact file you're after.
I have over a hundred and can't remember all; I have to be able to view the contents.

I think you're talking about a preview screen. Try this: Open> then on the tool bar find "Views". Change it to "Preview". Then when the list of documents comes up highlighting any will pull up the document and show it on the right side window. I'm using MS Word 2003, part of MS Office Professional 2003.

(BTW: Word remembers the last folder and opens this one first. If that's not where you want to be use the arrow next to "Look In" to find the folder.)
