Those with the .files extention appear to be folders.

Provide me with the exact path where they are located - your OS under your name = XP, but as you know you are in the Windows 7/ Vista forum.

I need to know your OS and if in fact those files/folders are in YOUR Pictures folder or not.

I am looking for something like:
c:\users\username\pictures\the-name-of-one-of-the-folders

Regards. . .

I have Windows Vista Home Premium.

And those folder files are located mainly in the Pictures Folder but there is one in the My Music folder.

C:\users\hani\pictures\Untitledhjhh.jpg.files

and I do have a pic in the Pictures folder with the same name:

C:\users\hani\pictures\Untitledhjhh.jpg

I uploaded 2 pics that might help

Im not entirely certain that this has anything to do with how those file came to be, but it seems reasonable.
I Googled hjhh and found 137k responses.
This one stuck out.

The files themselves seem to be just pictures thus .jpg
The .jpg.files is a folder that contains the .jpg pictures.

As best as I can tell it has to do with facebook.
Is that something that you use often?

Issue the following commands and let's see what is in those apparent folders -

START | type cmd.exe RIGHT-click on cmd.exe | select "Run as Administrator" - paste the following in - 1 command at a time -
Code:
[FONT=Lucida Console]
dir C:\users\hani\pictures /a /s /4 > "%temp%\1" & start notepad  "%temp%\1"
[/FONT]
Code:
[FONT=Lucida Console]
dir C:\users\hani /a /s /4 > "%temp%\2" & start notepad  "%temp%\2"
[/FONT]
Two notepads will open. Be patient - it may take up to 1 minute for the 2nd command to finish.

Save them both as text files, zip them up and attach to your next post.

Regards. . .

.

p.s. - one last command, please - a "Tree" -
Code:
[FONT=Lucida Console]
tree C:\users\hani /a > "%temp%\3" & start notepad  "%temp%\3"
[/FONT]

Is your default language setting for your system US English?

Do you save files using a language other than English - or that use characters other than A-Z and 0-9?

.

EDIT: It appears that you have somehow saved or copied in pictures that make up a folder for each picture (DIR = Folder) - the ones with .files are folders -
Code:
[font=lucida console]
 Directory of C:\users\hani\pictures\3yoon l Samak 27-9-2009

I asked about the language because of these "files" -
Code:
[font=lucida console]
|   +---New Folder (2)
|   |   +---[COLOR=red]š*¥Ÿ£ êë «éïê ãéíŸë[/COLOR]
|   |   +---[COLOR=red]ê韘Ÿ¢ Ÿé¬ï¦ ãéï åï Ÿé¢í¥ï§[/COLOR]
|   |   \---[COLOR=Red]©§í§ ãéî Ÿé꤫ê¡[/COLOR]
[/font]
I have reason to believe that your system may be infected because of this P2P app -
Code:
   +---[COLOR=DarkGreen][B]LimeWire[/B][/COLOR]
|   |   +---Incomplete
|   |   +---Saved
|   |   \---Store Purchased

If I may ask, what image browser do you use, if it's not the one normally bundled with vista? could be one bundled with your digital camera software. i'm wondering if the subfolders are just metadata (kind of like thumbs.db in XP).
there's one other possibility i'm thinking of and it's when you save web pages. if you save as a complete webpage, it'll put all the files associated with the web page in a subfolder with _files appended (note underscore, not dot). I think the easiest way to find out what this is is to look at what's IN the subfolders. I would guess thumbnails for fast indexing/previewing, but it's only a guess.

P.S: I would guess by the name, Korean?
