I really wish Atkinson would just give up already, he's the only one opposing the R18 rating.

I wonder what his Inbox must be like every morning. Hundreds of angry protesters and death threats. He's probably at a point now where just selects 'Delete All'.

Give it some time, it will be allowed in the country. They let GTA IV in the country and that is about as violent, sexual, drug usage, Language as any game can be..

Sounds about right. I know they have strict guidelines they follow, but lately they seem to have double standards.
Look at Fallout 3. Banned because of the word 'Morphine'.
Off the top of my head there's Far Cry 2 with it's 'Syrettes' (fancy name for drugs), any GTA game, heck, you can even pop pills in Left 4 Dead to get a temporary health boost.

If this has been banned for gore, they are insane. I was watching TV last night, and there was this medical show on with more gore than I have ever seen in my life, it was sickening, and I usually don't have a problem with blood and guts. This show was on public access TV, at 8pm, without any sort of warning except something about 'medical procedures'.

If it was classified with gaming classification standards, you'd get Drug Use, Strong Violence, Blood and Gore, Nudity and possibly even Strong Coarse Language. Banned instantly.
But because it's not 'interactive' it's supposedly okay. :sigh:

This is pretty stupid.
WB has the game banned because it was refused classification by the Australian Classification Board, then re-submits it to the Australian Classification Review Board, and they let it through with an MA15+ rating. No modifications made, just different people reviewing it, same rules and policies.

Ridiculous.

Problem is they aren't banning the games. They are simply refusing classification for games that are above an MA15 rating because we don't have and R18+ rating

And there is only one person opposing this at the moment, in fact many people in our government are behind a new rating for R18+ games but South Australian Attorney-General Michael Atkinson keeps vetoing any attempt to even discuss the new rating.

What's worse is his logic is flawed. He believes that creating the R18+ rating will allow little kids to get their hands on violent games, but instead, they are getting virtually identical games under the guise of an MA15 rating.

I was real sad when they first banned fear 2. Very happy it was unbanned.
Fear was the first horror game that I actually owned on my pc and I loved it. Fear 2 should be pretty epic.

Anyways i dont see why a game is banned from a country, people should not play it if it tells them to put on some camo and grab an m4 and shoot people. have you guys ever played mafia 2 Im sure it would have trouble too. you can get pulled over for speeding and it's a super realistic game
