i had no idea where 2 post this, soo i posted it here...

my fan on my Dell sounds like it kicks 2 a higher speed sometimes...

then kicks back down, im not worried bout that, thats normal...

but the fan spins slow, i'd say but 1000rpm, i can see the fins on the fan spinnin..

this fan is like a 70mm or 90mm or somethin, i have alot smaller fan in there, and it pushes alot more air  ....

is there a way i can change the fan speeds?

it has a 4-pin connector that plugs into the mobo, thanks 4 any help on this..

4 pin?

can you look real fast and make sure it's not just 3?

also, yes, you can change the fan's speed many many ways.

you can use tools like speedfan, or you can purchase the adaptor that takes a 4 pin hdd molex and gets power from that, you could even buy one of those that controls speed as well, there's alot of things you can do.

you must bear in mind, over riding the speed control of a CPU normally done by the motherboard is delicate business, unless you want it at high speed all the time, that the way I set mine!

yes thermaltake makes a fan speed controlling unit try a google search for them

then ramp up your fan speed as much as possible (if you deceide to slow your fans make sure you are using a monitoring program like sensorview or pc wizard or speedfan to monitor your temps, many times I have seen guys turn their fans down to reduce noise only to burn up their components, computers dont like heat!

if the software way doesn't happen to work on your motherboard, there's also adapters that bypass the motherboard and run the fan right off the 12v. this makes it just run full speed all the time.

it's the cheapest way to speed it up, but if you'd like to be able to change the speed, just go with a controller.
