Failed boot-up

1156 Views 4 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  nextjs
I just built my own computer and everything is working fine, except that it cant detect the system disk i made. The floppy drive is working(or at least the light is on). Also, on startup, it says "detecting"[then a little time passes] and then it says that my bios is not installed because there are no drives attached to it. I"m not sure what that means.
plz help

Welcome to the board,

Have you connected everything correctly to your motherboard, is the HD light on all the time or are there any beeps, also check the bios and make sure IDE detection is set for "Auto"
Well, i think everthing is connected correctly. The dvd-rom light comes on, and the floppy light, and the hdd light turns on. There arent' any beeps and i have the IDE detection on auto.
When they come on do they stay on?? or do they cycle off like normal?

Also after your memory check on the bios screen what does it say? As far as detected IDE devices?
The lights cycle off like normal. And on the bios screen it says that it detects the hard drive on the primary master and the dvd on the secondary slave(i need to change that).
