I'd get rid of this freeware program called EZip or Easy Zip
if I knew of a good free ware replacement. This prog worked well for a time.. just drap and drop to open things.

Now I am getting the following error which I wrote out by
had. It produces this error when attampting to load _and_
if I click on any current zip file since it has established itself as the default program. This is the error:

Exception EReadError in Module EZIP.EXE at 0012B49.
Error reading comment Text Lines. Strings RichEdit line
insertion error.


IIRC this problem started about the time I took the advice here to find some file called riched.dll which I
never did get installed because it comes as a zip file.

Winzip works pretty good.


I'm still getting some missing dll error after installing
the unzipped file to windows/system.

This one thing I didn't document. Can't find dll pops up,
the I do it again and it goes through. This happens from the desktop. "Can't find 'something' dll". I reinstalled
98se not long ago hoping to get rid of this problem. I thing I ran the updates. How critical is that?

Just lately I offloaded a tracker program from Firefox
from some outfit called SoftSupport. It was supposed to
track errors in Ffx.

Sygate is still on here. What was the other Firewall mentioned? I forgot by now.

I'm getting a missing dll message when loading various things from the desktop. I can click through the error and then the program load will take place.

Run the System File Checker

Go to the Run box on the Start Menu and type in:

sfc /scannow ( sfc if not reconized)

This command will immediately initiate the Windows File Protection service to scan all protected files and verify their integrity, replacing any files with which it finds a problem. You will need your Windows cd.

Please post what dll is missing :sayyes:
