I think I have history's most random problem. :sigh:

Right.
So I press the BOOT UP button on my PC case.
It seems to boot normally UNTIL......
It suddenly freezes on the screen where it displays the list of drives (the same screen that asks if you want to boot from CD).
The ONLY WAY I have figured out how to get around this is by pressing the RESTART button on the case, after which it boots the computer and loads the OS normally.

Strange. :grin:
Please note that this error occured from the moment I finished building the computer several months ago. Now whenever I switch on my computer I just press start then the restart button straight away. That's the only way I get it to boot.
I understand that this is NOT HEALTHY.

Please, can ANYONE can shed any light on this unusual issue??? :4-dontkno

Are you using a Video card or the integrated video?
What Power supply brand and model?

Its a 450 watt Gigabyte Odin power supply. The graphics card is a nVidia GeForce 8600GT.

I would try a different Power Supply see if you can borrow one to test with often the nostart on the first try is a power supply issue.
