Hi I recently bought the Dell Inspiron i7559-763BLK and I’ve been having an issue with lag/freeze after leaving the laptop in hibernation for 1-4 hours. Every time I leave the computer on hibernate and open it up again I would get these computer freezes where every 7-10 seconds the computer will freeze up and whatever I do (ex: move mouse/type) would happen 4-5 seconds later. This lag makes the computer impossible to use after hibernation. Once I restart the computer it is back to its normal speedy performance. I was wondering if anyone had this issue before and what are some possible fixes for this.
-Thanks! :grin::grin::grin:

I can’t seem to figure out the problem going on, I had suspected it was the hard drive turning off but even after tweaking the battery settings so that it won’t turn off the hard drive this lag after a long hibernation still happens. (Computer Specs: Gtx 960M, SanDisk Z400s M.2 2280 256GB (SSD), I5-6300HQ, Windows 10 Home, 8GB Ram)

I can't speak for that model laptop, but I personally always disable hibernation on any pc I own or work on as I have never seen it work right by either not coming up in a timely manner or just simply coming back up all "goofy" as you describe with functions not working properly. We used to be able to disable that in the bios but seldom can any more so instead inside Control Panel, Power Options and "Advanced" is where I shut it down. If you have sleep or suspend enable to S3 in the bios (setup) that actually does almost the same exact thing without all the issues of hibernation. Just an opinion.

No difference between S3 sleep and hibernation...and if you are worried about power, why not shut it down once a day at night which is healthier for the laptop anyway and allows ram to reset which nothing else will do.
With S3 sleep many systems require quick press of power button to return to Windows and you might have to set the power button to sleep instead of instant down for that to work right in Control Panel, "choose what power button does".

I tried sleep mode, same thing happens. In addition to the lag, when the first round of freezes come in, during the momentary freeze/lag there are couple of beeping noises from the computer. Do you know what is going on?
What's the difference between S3 sleep and normal sleep I have now?

S3 sleep shuts down everything and in many cases a simple mouse tap or keyboard tap will not bring it back, takes a power button quick push because S3 is a hardware sleep. S1 sleep is surface software power down but it does not go all the way down as S3 does. You need to set S3 in the bios and for all intents and purposes it is the same as Hibernation.
