Looking at getting this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-MU...ywords=external+ssd+1tb&qid=1604069270&sr=8-3

As I have this: https://www.box.co.uk/81LK010TUK-Lenovo-IdeaPad-Gaming-L340-15_2834990.html#DetailTop

I have looked at upgrading the internal ssd, however, never touched a laptop, built my pc 7 years ago and not sure what I'm doing and looks a little complex for me. Would the SSD in the link do it, or do you think it would be worthwhile me paying some pc expert to sort out a larger internal SSD, if so have any suggestions on the internal, and how much do you think it would cost/how long would it take?

Do you think the external 1tb and the write speed I get from this laptop is suitable to run either of those games?

Only drawback I see is you'd have to bring the external with the laptop if you travel.

I don't travel too much, just have a young child, so the laptop makes life SO much easier. I'll probably go with the external then. You don't see any issues with the game loading?

Looking at your laptop where the loading is dependent, you're in good shape.
