Hopefully I've got this in the right forum, apologies of not.
I have a problem with my vaio VGN AR11M laptop.
A couple of years ago the screen on it completely broke so since then I've been using an external monitor with it. However due to a problem with the XP OS won't boot and it goes straight to the boot menu. The problem with this is that the external monitor only gets a signal when the XP OS starts, which it isn't doing at the moment meaning that not only is the laptop screen unreadable, but the external monitor doesn't pick up any signal either.
I have no way at all as far as I can tell of seeing what my laptop is doing.
Does anybody know any way that I could get the external monitor to receive a signal even though Xp isn't being loaded ? Iv tried the Fn + F7 trick without success.
I can't see anything at all on either the screen or monitor, and I know there's a problem with my XP OS so it won't load automatically (though that's a separate issue - I really Jay want a way for my external monitor to get a signal without XP loading up).
If anyone can help me I'd be so grateful.
