Assuming she is also using Windows, there shouldn't be a problem. However, having said that, there seems to be an issue when moving drives between PC's that are using different OS's (ie: XP to Win7 or vice versa). There isn't a fix that I've seen so far, aside from simply formatting the drive on the PC will it will be primarily used.
External Hard Drive Formatted on another computer
I seem to be having a problem connecting my portable hard drive to my computer. When I bought it, a friend of mine did the format on their computer and added some of their files on there for me.
The problem though is when I got home, I tried to connect the hard drive to my comuter at home and it's saying it needs to be formatted!!! I can't seem to see any of the files on there at all!
I have no idea what operating system she has running on her computer but from what I gather ( since her computer is a year old and mine is 7 years old ) she must have a much newer system than I. And have found through some posts here that this might be a problem.
My question is - How do I manage to get the info from the hard drive!??!?!?
