I have a wired router and have successfully attached a Belkin wireless access point to it. I have installed a wireless notebook card in my laptop and all is functioning well.

However, I have a big house and on the upper floor, the signal is not strong enough to create a wireless connection.

I have been told that I need to buy another access point to install upstairs and configure it as a 'range extender'.

Can anyone tell me how to configure this set up (ie both the existing AP and the new one)?

I'd consider a hi-gain antenna first, it's simpler.
