i was changing the security level under internet options for my ie and when i clicked ok my computer froze. i waited for about an half an hour to see if it was just being slow, but there was no response so i restarted the computer. it all seemed ok until my internet started to act very strangely. first of all i could only access my homepage but no other sites, my downloads just stopped but the queued ones were still waiting, and my warcraft iii (for those who understand) could connect to battle.net and talk to people, but i wouldnt be able to join games. if i restart my computer it seems to fixes itself and is fine for several hours until the problem occurs again. unfortunately i am one of those people who keep their computers on 24/7 and i dont want to restart whenever this happens.

can anybody help me?

Hey yoshi...

Maybe it has to do with the change you made to your IE security level.
Have you tried to change the security level back to the default?

Hi yoshi

Assuming you have re-set your security settings as they previously were - go up to Tools>Internet Options and delete Cookies and Temporary Files, then on the Programs tab click: 'Reset Websettings'.

With your XP CD in a drive go to Start>Run and type sfc/ scannow>OK and allow the file checker to replace any essential IE files that may have got lost or damaged.

Just to eliminate various possibilities, does it make any difference if you switch off all security devices, including your firewall?

If none of this helps, try downloading Opera or Firefox to see if another browsers works ok.

Let us know how things go.
