I am going out of my mind.

I built a computer using the following:

Mainboard : Asus P8P67 DELUXE
Chipset : Intel Sandy Bridge
Processor : Intel Core i5 2500K @ 3300MHz
Physical Memory : 16384MB (4 x 4096 DDR3-SDRAM )
Video Card : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260
Hard Disk : Seagate ST3160812AS (160GB)
Hard Disk : Western Digital WD5000AAKS-007AA0 (500GB)
DVD-Rom Drive : ASUS DRW-24B1ST
Monitor Type : Dell Computer DELL E207WFP - 20 inches
Network Card : Intel Cougar Point Ethernet Controller
Network Card : Realtek Semiconductor RTL8168/8111 PCIe Gigabit Ethernet Adapter
Operating System : Windows 7 Professional Professional Media Center 6.01.7601 Service Pack 1 (64-bit)
DirectX : Version 11.00
Windows Performance Index : 5.9 on 7.9

All are new parts except for the two HDD's and the video card. The 500Gb drive I had from a previous build, and formatted it to do a clean Windows 7 install.

The install goes fine, but after a couple hours of updating Windows and installing drivers explorer.exe fails to respond. No system crash or lock-up, just no response when I attempt to start most programs. (IE9 64-bit and Steam work fine.)

Restarting does not help. System restore doesn't always help, and even when it does explorer.exe stops working after a couple of hours of updating and restarting. The only thing that seems to work is a complete reinstall of Windows, which eventually gets the same problem.

It does not seem like any one particular driver or Windows update, or any combination of running processes and programs causes this.

I've done 5 Windows reinstallations in 2 days. Please help!
