Hey everyone. I just built a new desktop, it all went together great until the operating system. I installed XP without an issue but I have noticed it has been running very slow. I opened task manager and explorer.exe is constantly running 100-150mb of ram even at idle. My pc runs in waves, slows down speeds up. It also affects the internet, some websites wont even load.
I know it is explorer.exe because I ended the process and everything ran fine including the internet. I have tried scanning with anti virus, that found nothing. Here are some specs

2gb ddr2 800 ram

What can I do to fix this?
