I read this somewhere i think, and i ask because the last couple of days I've made a bit of a mess of things which i think i've sorted-but in this period i've restarted my pc very, very often. Any harm done? :4-dontkno

thanks for the quick response, that's reassuring. Also I've uninstalled and installed the same piece of software about ten bloody times in about 3 days (don't ask), eventually uninstalling it. No harm done again?

Hi,

Well, there can be remnants left from some software uninstalls. However, if you don't see any problems, then don't worry about fixing something that is not broken.

If you need help with that software issue, then explain what it is and the problems you have with it and someone might be able to help you. They also might advise you not to load that program, so if you have a need to know, then explain away.

Post back with questions/concerns.

I always reboot after updating drivers or other software upgrades. If anything, a reboot will slightly increase Windows performance in the short-term rather than do any damage.

You could run defrag after an installation to keep things running smoothly.
