Event ID 7036 - Device Disconnect Sound

Windows 7 has been making the device disconnect sound and then the re-connect sound shortly after at a random interval. This has only happened today and I've tied it to Event ID 7036 in Event Viewer. I opened event viewer and refreshed when I heard the sound and checked for differences. There is an Event ID 7036 at the same time as the sound in every case. Each has the description "The Multimedia Class Scheduler Service entered the running/stopped state." What could cause this and why?

Recent hardware changes: plugged in multi-card reader, external hard drive has been plugged in for weeks. I've unplugged the card reader in the meantime to see if that was it. There have been no "device disconnected" bubbles or notifications connected with the noise.

No make or model... I built it :p All the details are in my profile or under "My System" underneath my avatar. I've not heard the noise since I unplugged the card reader, so I'm assuming that was it. What would make a card reader do that though? The only USB port available is the one it's on, which is actually a hub... Too many devices lol. Never removed anything, which was why the disconnect noise was confusing me. If I don't hear the noise again I'll just assume my card reader is faulty (it's old and cheap).
