i have a laptop that has warn out usb ports

so warn out that you can not hold them right any more

i bought a ethernet/phone line usb adapter and i thought i could use it as a usb

how the laptop does not see it

is there a way to make the adapter work

Can you post a link to the adapter you are trying to use? I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be an adapter to be able to adapt a USB port to Ethernet, not adapt an Ethernet port to USB. I'm not aware of an adapter that will do what you want but would like to see what you have before saying for sure it can't be done.

can a male esata to usb female work as a place ment for the bad usb ports

To my knowledge USB can be adapted to many other types of I/O (hence the name Universal Serial Bus) but I don't know of any other types that can be adapted to become USB.
