Error when installing HP Deskjet drivers.

Hi.

I just figured it was time for me to install the drivers for my HP Deskjet printer. Did it work the way I wanted it to? Obviously not. Whenever I try to install the AIO drivers, which I downloaded from HP's website, I get a blank error message after the setup has checked my system, the installation sets a checkpoint thing, and the entire setup teminates. I tried running a registry clean however it did not solve the problem. I tried talking to HP, which was as sucessful as talking to the wall next to me. So I though I should turn to the community and ask for help. If there's anything that needs clearing up, please tell me. Thanks in advance.

I spent 8 hours with HP without being able to install the AIO software for my c7280. Even their tech could not install it running my computer remotely. On top of that I fooled with it off and on for another 6 months. Always a failure at the end of a 20 minute install. The hardware would work in pieces but not as an integrated tool. Finally bit the bullet and did a fresh XP install followed immediately with the AIO install. Now all works fine. Like all imperial computer dynasties, HP thinks it has the only device you will ever have on your computer and HP is the only computer anyone should be allowed to own.

I really like the AIO but would not lightly recommend it due to bloated software problems. All my previous printers installed in a few minutes without any complications.

Good luck,

John
