Error OX80070002 Win Xp at Boot

This is my third day looking to solve this annoying error when I start-up my Laptop. It is a Dell D-610 with winxp Pro SP2. This is happening after I had to re-install windows after a system crash. Have tried more than five methods described is different web sites with no progress. Have changed the drive letters, deleted the Crystography values, have renamed wpa.dbl to wpa.old and then renamed wpa.bak to wpa.dbl, and a couple of things more. I tested reinstalling winxp in desktop and same error is displayed at win star-up. Only way to access the PC's are via Save Mode (here I tested the above mentioned "solutions" ). Any idea on how to solve this riddle? Thanks

your xp pro key is legal, correct?

edit: actually, i think i remember seeing this before. you may possibly have malware. it can usually be removed in safemode via malware bytes anti malware
Isn't malware removed once the HDD is reformatted? Thanks
