Often when I start my computer I have a message - "Error accessing system registry. Windows will restart and repair system registry" I am running windows 98.

It sounds like a bad registery. This could be because of a virus, corrupt files or a bad hard drive. Either way, I would do a testing of the system. You can also try running scanreg /restore to see if that will help, but you may need to format and reload.

You want to get to a command prompt. Click start > shutdown > restart in dos mode then run the scanreg /restore command.

Yes my friend, that's just Windows 98 for ya... I would also suggest the "scanreg /restore" command, or, formatting and re-installing everything. Hehe, I like to format whenever I get the chance, I'm weird that way. :dazed:
